LEAKAGE CONTROL FOR PREHEATER Abstract A boiler system including rotary regenerative heat exchange apparatus that includes a rotor 16 containing a mass of heat absorbent material. The rotor is rotated by a variable speed motor 42 between a stream of hot gas 18 and cool air 22. Control means 26 responsive to variable conditions in the streams of gas and air continuously regulate the speed with which motor 42 rotates the rotor 16 whereby the rotor is turned in accordance with load conditions on the boiler to obtain maximum efficiency and to reduce entrained leakage.
