A garment in the form of an undergarment or an outerwear having a body conforming lower torso portion for preventing leakage of body waste liquids. The torso portions is formed of sheet material which at least in the crotch portion consists of a liquid permeable inner layer and a juxtaposed outer layer which is breathable but liquid impermeable. The sheet materials forming the layers may be formed of woven or non-woven material, and the sheet materials may be individual layers bonded or stitched together, or alternatively, layers of different characteristics may be formed as materials are brought together in the process of forming an integral sheet. In use, body waste liquids are free to flow into the inner layer out on contacting the outer layer, the liquid does not exit the garment. The present invention provides a garment of simple construction which is comfortable to the wearer and is non-conspicuous but is capable of preventing leakage which is known to occur from failure of presently used famine care products, from incontinence, unexpected or erratic light menses flow and like conditions.
