The present invention relates to novel formulations for water proofing leather, a process for waterproofing leather, and leather goods waterproofed by the formulations and processes of the present invention. More specifically, the present invention relates to the use of a composition containing a salt of polyalkyl carboxylic acid anhydride, an aliphatic carboxylic acid amide, a fatty alcohol or blend of fatty alcohols, an alcohol cosolvent, a preservative, and water for imparting improved hydrophobicity, flexibility, and/or product feel of the finished leather goods.
L'invention se rapporte à de nouvelles formulations d'imperméabilisation du cuir, à un procédé d'imperméabilisation du cuir et à des articles en cuir imperméabilisés au moyen des formulations et procédés de cette invention. L'invention se rapporte, plus particulièrement, à l'utilisation d'une composition renfermant un sel d'anhydride d'acide carboxylique polyalkyle, un amide d'acide carboxylique aliphatique, un alcool gras ou un mélange d'alcools gras, un cosolvant d'alcool, un conservateur et de l'eau permettant d'assurer une meilleure hydrophobie, une meilleure souplesse et/ou une meilleure sensation aux produits finis en cuir.
