Abstract LED ART is a process of custom fitting sound activated light emitting diodes to a picture and frame. In this invention three to as many as thirty sound activated LEDs (light emitting diodes) of three different colours can be custom fit to suit an individual picture and frame. A circuit board (5 amplifiers, 4 transistors, 14 resistors, and 13 capacitors) is installed behind the picture. The LEDs are placed through small holes in the back of the picture, and are hold in place by small blocks glued to the picture backing. If there is a piece of glass over the picture, no holes are made in the glass. The LEDs of each different colour red, green and yellow have there own amplifier which operates best at a certain frequency. The red amplifier operates at a low frequency around 100 Hz. The green amplifier operates at a mid range frequency around 200 to 1,000 Hz. The yellow amplifier operates at a high frequency around 1,000 to 10,000 Hz. An electret condenser mike element is installed in the picture frame to pick up sounds. There is a sensitivity control (1MEG. OHM variable resistor) installed in the picture frame also. This control is used to raise or lower the sensitivity of the mike element. A 9 V battery is installed behind the picture to power the unit. When the unit is switched on and the sensitivity is adjusted the LEDs will flash in different patterns according to the different frequencies of sound being picked up by the mike element. Example, If the LED ART picture is set to pick up a song playing on the radio the red LEDs will flash to the base beat, the green LEDs will flash to the guitar rhythm and other mid range sounds while the yellow LEDs will flash to high range keyboard and vocal sounds.
