A light emitting diode (LED) lighting array assembly is provided having a base for mounting light emitting diodes thereon. The base has outer surfaces facing different directions. LEDs are mounted on each of the outer surfaces of the base The number of light emitting diodes mounted on each of the outer surfaces is determined by the light specified in each direction to meet lighting parameters in different directions. A method for configuring same is also provided.
