73633-45 ABSTRACT An attachment for securing a leg to an article of furniture, such as a table, eliminates the use of the costly sub- frame that would normally be required. The attachment utilizes a rigid large flat steel plate that is connected to the upper end of the leg by machine screws passing through holes in the plate and spaced axially extending bores in the table leg, these bores leading to a transverse bore in which is positioned a cylindrical dowel pin. The ends of the machine screws are threaded into the dowel pin and the screws can then be tightened to clamp the plate to the leg. The plate is of very much greater area than the leg and has holes around its perimeter through which wood screws can be passed to attach the plate to the underside of a table or the like.
