A leg prosthesis provided with a knee joint, which is on the one hand attached to an upper leg part and which is on the other hand attached to a lower leg part. The lower leg part can pivot with respect to said upper leg part, from an extended position to a flexed position. The knee joint is constructed in such a manner that the lower leg part and the upper leg part are initially moved away from each other when flexing from a substantially extended position. The knee joint may comprise four parallel pivot axes, whereby two lower leg pivot axes occupy a fixed position with respect to the first lower leg part and two upper leg pivot axes occupy a fixed position with respect to the upper leg part. Connecting elements pivotally connect each lower leg pivot axis to an upper leg pivot axis.
Cette invention concerne une prothèse de jambe, pourvue d'une articulation du genou, qui est fixée d'une part à une partie supérieure de prothèse de jambe et d'autre part à une partie inférieure de prothèse de jambe. La partie inférieure de prothèse peut pivoter par rapport à la partie supérieure de prothèse, à partir d'une position d'extension jusqu'à une position de flexion. L'articulation du genou est construite de telle manière que la partie inférieure de prothèse et la partie supérieure de prothèse s'éloignent initialement l'une de l'autre lorsque la flexion intervient à partir d'une position correspondant sensiblement à l'extension. Cette articulation du genou peut comporter quatre axes parallèles de pivotement, deux axes de pivotement de la prothèse inférieure occupant une position fixe par rapport à la première partie inférieure de prothèse et deux axes de pivotement de la prothèse supérieure occupant une position fixe par rapport à la partie supérieure de prothèse. Des éléments de raccordement raccordent, de manière à permettre le pivotement, chaque axe de pivotement de la partie inférieure de prothèse à un axe de pivotement de la partie supérieure de prothèse.
