Method and arrangement for intercepting a target mobile station (MS) in a GPRS network. A legal interception node (LIN) is installed into the land-based portion of the radio network. An "intercepted" status is defined for mobile stations (MS) that are to be intercepted. In response to an order from a law-enforcement authority (LEA) to intercept one of said mobile stations (MS) the status of such a mobile station (MS) is changed to "intercepted" and at least some of the packets originating from such a mobile station (MS) or terminated thereto are routed and/or copied from at least one of the support nodes (SGSN, GGSN) via the legal interception node (LIN) to the law-enforcement authority.

Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un système servant à intercepter une station mobile cible (MS) dans un réseau GPRS. A cet effet, un noeud d'interception légale (LIN) est installé dans la partie basée à terre du réseau radio. Un état "intercepté" est défini pour les stations mobiles (MS) qui doivent être interceptées. En réponse à un ordre d'intercepter l'une de ces stations mobiles (MS) donné par une autorité de police (LEA), l'état d'une telle station mobile (MS) est changé en "intercepté" et au moins certains des paquets provenant d'une telle station mobile (MS) ou aboutissant à elle sont acheminés et/ou copiés à partir d'au moins l'un des noeuds de support (SGSN, GGSN) via le noeud d'interception légale (LIN) à destination de l'autorité de police.
