ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The invention solves the problem of a design of mining support having a considerable working range and pre- venting it from being clamped by the rocks when it is operating in the lower height range. Support acc. to the invention has a lemniscate mechanism with special length ratios. The ratio of the height h of the articulated joint above the articulated joint, which connects the foot piece to the lemniscate connectors and the length s in a horizon- tal line between the articulated joints is 1 : /2.25 to 2.26/. The ratio of the length 11 of the rear connector to the length 12 of the front lemniscate connector is 1 : /1.25 to 1.26/. The ratio of the length 13 between the articulated joints, which connect the shield to the con- nectors and the square root of the sum of the squares of the height h and distance is 1 : /1.75 to 1.76/. The articu- lated joint moves between the straight t lines expressed by the equations Y2 = -0.1x + h and Y2 = 0.036x + h.
