ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A length compensation device is disclosed for Bowden controls, mechanical flexible remote controls or the like with two components (2,4) adjustable with respect to each other and interlockable in different positions. The mutually interlocked components (2,4) are retained in the interlocked position by a movable retaining element (3) . The device may be designed so that it automatically carries out a length compensation once the retaining element (3) has been manually moved and unlocked, or the length compensation is automatically carried out.
