ABSTRACT Described is a lens casting mold, and a process for using same, in making an optical lens. The casting mold comprises a cup-shaped element which forms a first optical surface in the lens blank upon polymerization of a casting liquid and an internally threaded tubular element for mounting the casting mold on a threaded precision mandrel. The subsequent optical surface is generated and finished.
