The present invention provides a means of cutting and cleaning lettuce wherein the lettuce is cut and cleaned both safely and efficiently. The checker board pattern of interlocked blades cuts the lettuce into bite size squares. The handles that are attached to the ring assures that the hands are away from the blades. The fine plastic mesh bag that is attached to the metal ring by a hook and loop provides a catch for the lettuce after it has been cut and can then be used to rinse the lettuce. The blade protector also provides a surface for the head of lettuce to be placed while pressing the ring through. When the blades are through the lettuce the blade protector contains the lettuce while the device is flipped over and prepared for the rinsing of the lettuce.
