Le vélo traditionnel utilise un vilebrequin en guise de pédalier, afin de transmettre l'énergie humaine à la roue de traction. L'utilisation de ce vilebrequin ne permet de communiquer qu'une partie de la force appliquée. De fait, sur une course de 360 degrés, seulement 90 degrés contribuent à générer cette force. La présente invention est un principe mécanique mieux adapté aux mouvements de balancier du corps humain. En effet, ce mécanisme constitué de leviers et de roulements à embrayage à rappel sert à transformer un mouvement de va-et-vient en mouvement de rotation qu'il transmet à un système traditionnel de transmission via un axe de transmission.
