A fluid collection bag (12) and drain assembly comprises: a container having an interior chamber for collecting fluid. Mounted to the container is a compressible, resilient outlet tube (20) having a passage in fluid communication with the interior chamber of the container. A housing surrounds the outlet tube (20) and the discharge end of the outlet tube is disposed to discharge fluid through the open lower end of the housing. A lever (23) is pivotably mounted to the housing (22). A closure member (66) extending from the lever (23) is operative to clamp off the outlet tube (20) when the lever (23) is in a closed position and to permit the outlet tube (20) to open when the lever (23) is in an open position. A cover member (24) is pivotably mounted to the housing (22) and is normally operative to close the open lower end of the housing.
