The invention concerns a method for synthesising Li¿4?Ti¿5?O¿12?, Li¿4?Z¿.beta.?Ti ¿(5-.beta.)?O¿12?, OR Li ¿(4-.alpha.)? Z¿.alpha.?Ti¿5?O¿12? particles preferably¿ ?having¿ ?spinel structure, wherein: .beta. is greater than 0 and not more than 0.5 (preferably having spinel structure); .alpha. represents a number greater than zero and not more than 0.33, Z representing a source of at least a metal selected among the group consisting of Mg, Nb, Al, Zr, Ni, Co. Said particles coated with carbon exhibit particularly interesting electrochemical properties as anode and/or cathode component of electrochemical generators.

Procédé de synthèse de particules de Li4Ti5O12, Li4Z .beta. T i(5-.beta.)O12 ou Li(4-.alpha.)Z .alpha. Ti5O12, de préférence de structure spinelle, dans laquelle .beta. est supérieur à 0 et inférieur ou égal à 0,5 (de préférence de structure spinelle), .alpha. représentant un nombre supérieur à 0 et inférieur ou égal à 0,33, Z représentant une source d'au moins un métal choisi parmi le groupe constitué par Mg, Nb, Al, Zr, Ni et Co. Ces particules enrobées de carbone, présentent notamment des propriétés électrochimiques particulièrement intéressantes comme composant de l'anode et/ou de la cathode de générateurs électrochimiques.
