ABSTRACT A lid-to-container locking assembly for lock sealing containers utilized in the transporting, storage and disposal of loll level radioactive contaminated materiel. The locking assembly gives visual indications of a locked, sealed condition of the container through the utilization of a closure element that is ensconced in a latched position upon the lid to be secured as well as to the container to be sealed. Detachment of the closure element at either of these points of its locking engagement with the lid and/or container will visually indicate an open and unsealed condition.
