ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In order to provide a lid for a pressure vessel which avoids the problems involved in the manufacture of known lids and which is more economical to make the present invention provides a lid comprising an inner skin and an outer skin, both of which are formed as pressings. The inner skin has a circumferential seal groove formed as part of the pressing operation. The proviso of the one piece inner skin avoids the need for any welding to be performed within the sealed area whilst the combination of the inner and outer skins ensures that the required strength is achieved.
