The present invention relates to a safety retrieval device, that is, a device for rescuing from the water a person that fell threw the ice at night. When a person falls threw the ice the effects of hypothermia, particularly in cold water, combined with weight of waterlogged clothing, and perhaps injury, often make it impossible for him to climb back onto the ice unaided. Moreover, those remaining on the ice may find it difficult, if impossible, to haul the person out of the water, particularly on thin ice or severe weather conditions. This invention, the life saving aid retrieval device compromises of a rope with luminescent properties (glow in the dark), enables both the rescuer and rescue to determine the location of the life saving aid, thereby saving precious seconds in an emergency situation, with two handles having retractable sharp ice cups for traction to pull himself out or be assist by a bystander. This lifesaving aid, is portable, compact and lightweight and enables the users to carry the item, either on their person or in limited space situations such as ice fishing, snowmobiling, skiing without sacrificing space in favour of safety.
Dispositif de sauvetage pour secourir une personne tombée dans l'eau glacée à la noirceur. Lorsqu'une personne tombe, les effets d'hypothermie, particulièrement dans l'eau glacée, combinés avec le poids des vêtements saturés d'eau, et peut-être une blessure, empêchent souvent la victime de sortir de l'eau à moins d'être aidée. De plus, ceux qui sont restés sur la glace peuvent trouver difficile, voire impossible, de tirer la victime hors de l'eau, surtout sur une couche de glace mince ou lorsque les conditions météorologiques sont particulièrement mauvaises. Le dispositif de sauvetage comporte une corde phosphorescente (luisante à la noirceur), permettant au sauveteur et à la victime de déterminer l'emplacement du dispositif de sauvetage, économisant ainsi de précieuses secondes dans une situation d'urgence. Le dispositif comprend deux poignées ayant des coupelles à glace pointues rétractables de façon à exercer une traction permettant à la victime de sortir de l'eau ou d'être aidé par un spectateur. Portatif, compact et léger, ce dispositif permet aux usagers de transporter l'article, soit sur eux ou dans un espace restreint en faisant de la pêche sur glace, de la motoneige ou du ski, sans sacrifier l'espace en faveur de la sécurité.
