ABSTRACT A new seam structure, in particular for inflatable devices, provides a fin seam which is modified in the manner of a lap seam. A plurality of sheets of material, hereto, are superimposed with one having a marginal area extending beyond the edge of the other. After bonding, as by heat sealing, adjacent the edge of the other sheet of material to form a fin seam, the bonded area and the marginal area are folded back against the other sheet of material and cemented thereto, in the manner of a fin seam. An improved cosmetic effect and a greatly improved strength of seam are therefore provided.
