A life safety device in-cludes a battery assembly with a rechargeable battery. Extended shelf life is achieved by annually initiating an over-discharge protection mode in which a battery protection circuit pre-vents current flow from the battery. The life safety device remains in the over-discharge protection mode until the device is connected to a charging power source at the time of installa-tion. The battery assembly then exits the protection mode and enters its normal mode of operation.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de sécurité, qui comprend un ensemble batterie avec une batterie rechargeable. Il est possible de prolonger la durée de stockage des batteries en initiant, chaque année, un mode de protection contre les décharges excessives selon lequel un circuit de protection de batteries empêche toute circulation de courant en provenance de la batterie.
