A lift gate apparatus for a truck or trailer body is provided that includes a platform and a drive mechanism operable to pivot the platform between a stowed position and a deployed position, and vertically move the platform from a bed- level position and a lower than bed-level position. In some embodiments, the drive mechanism utilizes a pneumatic motor to power one or both of a pivot drive and a lift drive. In some embodiments, the drive mechanism utilizes one or more pneumatic cylinders within the pivot drive or lift drive. In some embodiments, one or more pneumatic cylinders are arranged to both pivot the platform and vertically lift the platform, thereby combining the functionality of the pivot drive and the lift drive. The emergency brake system of the truck or trailer body can be used as a source of compressed air to power the pneumatic motor and/or cylinders.
L'invention concerne un appareil hayon élévateur pour superstructure de camion ou de remorque, cet appareil comprenant une plate-forme et un mécanisme de commande servant à faire pivoter la plate-forme entre une position rabattue et une position ouverte et à déplacer la plate-forme à la verticale d'une position de niveau à une position inférieure. Dans certains modes de réalisation, le mécanisme de commande est doté d'un moteur pneumatique pour entraîner un entraînement rotatif et/ou un entraînement élévateur. Dans d'autres modes de réalisation, le mécanisme de commande fait intervenir un ou plusieurs cylindres pneumatiques à l'intérieur de l'entraînement rotatif ou de l'entraînement élévateur. Dans encore d'autres modes de réalisation, un ou plusieurs cylindres pneumatiques sont disposés pour faire pivoter la plate-forme et la lever à la verticale, combinant ainsi les fonctions de l'entraînement rotatif et de l'entraînement élévateur. Le système de freinage d'urgence de la superstructure du camion ou de la remorque peut servir de source d'air comprimé pour alimenter le moteur pneumatique et/ou les cylindres.
