ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A lift and support mechanism for raising and lowering the roof section of a recreation or camping vehicle including a pair of elongated, generally parallel roof support members movable between upper and lower positions to raise and lower the roof section, a drive means associated with one end of the support members for causing the raising and lowering of the roof support members, and torsion bar assembly means disposed within each of the roof support members to prevent the roof from sagging and to counteract the normal torsion stresses in the support members.
