ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a lifter apparatus for a pivotal-sliding roof panel in a vehicle having a roof opening comprising: a guide rail mounted on the vehicle; a guide shoe slidably disposed within the guide rail; a link having first and second ends, the first end being pivotally connected to the guide shoe; an attachment member secured to the roof panel and having an aperture formed therein; the second end of the link being slidably disposed within the aperture in the attachment member; a cam block mounted on the guide shoe, the cam block engaging the attachment member and urging the attachment member and the roof panel upward to close the roof opening; and the link pivoting about the first end as the guide shoe moves further within the guide rail such that the second end slides within the aperture in the attach- ment member and urges the attachment member and the roof panel upward to a vent position in which the rear edge of the roof panel is disposed above the vehicle roof.
