The invention relates to a lifting device (1) for transporting a container, comprising a main frame (2) and two displaceable supports (3). Each displaceable support (3) is mounted in a displaceable manner on a longitudinal side of an end of the main frame (2) moving outward in a longitudinal direction thereof. Receiving elements for coupling onto the container are provided on the free longitudinal side ends of the displaceable supports (3). The displaceable supports (3) are actuated by means of external drum- integrated motors (44). The displaceable supports (3) are guided in the main frame (2) by means of roller bearings.
