LIFTING APPARATUS FOR PORTABLE GRAIN AUGERS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A grain auger includes a lifting apparatus for raising and lowering the auger to increase and decrease the angle thereof relative to the ground comprising a relatively short stroke cylinder and piston device at- tached to a pulley arrangement whereby the stroke of the piston is multiplied by the pulley arrangement to obtain a substantial movement in a cable to raise the auger. The lifting can be carried out by a fixed length sliding leg or by a telescopic leg with the cylinder and pulley arran- gement mounted either on the auger tube or on one of the legs.
