A lifting ring including a shackle and an anchor head connector pivotably connected to the lower portion of the shackle. Two planar surfaces (7, 7a) and two rounded surfaces (6, 6a) linking the eye (5) and the surfaces of the connector (1) form abutments restricting the range of relative movement of the shackle (2) and the connector (1).
