LIFTING SLING FOR INVALID ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION This invention is directed to a lifting sling for invalids particularly those which use a wheelchair. More particularly, this invention is directed to a flexible foldable lifting apparatus which can be placed under a paraplegic or a quadraplegic while sitting in a wheelchair or chair, or lying on a bed, and utilizing two persons, lifting the invalid from the wheelchair or chair onto a bed or other sitting device, or vice versa. It relates to an apparatus useful for permitting incapacitated persons to be lifted from one location to another comprising: (a) flexible means for positioning at the back and under the buttocks and thighs of the person; (b) gripping means secured to the bottom portion of the flexible means; (c) gripping means secured to the top portion of the flexible means, and (d) securing means for securing the chest portion of the person to the back portion of the flexible means.
