ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A light alloy cylinder head for internal combustion engines, in which a metal plate is arranged on the bottom of the cylinder head, the outer circumference of the plate com- prising an annular shoulder, characterized in that the annular shoulder is arranged in the cylinder head, and/or in the cylinder barrel, in such a manner that the different thermal stresses arising while the engine is in operation cause forces to act upon the metal plate in such a manner that it bears against the bottom of the cylinder head.
