In a light curing device which is especially suitable for light-induced polymerization of dental material in the mouth of a patient, a light source is provided which is housed together with a reflector in the hand-held device together with a cooling fan. The reflector reflects the radiation emitted by the light source. The light source is supported within a substantially dust-tight tight source casing having cooling ribs provided at its exterior.
