CA 2084789

2084789 9119538 PCTABS00008 A detector for measuring the intensity of light comprises two sensors (11, 12) adapted to produce output signals related to the intensity of light incident upon them, a filter (14) for attenuating light received by one of the sensors in a selected spectral band, and means (15) for combining the output signals of the two sensors to provide a detector output signal representative of the intensity of the light in the said spectral band incident upon the detector. The sensors (11, 12) are so disposed in relation to one another, for example they may be arranged concentrically, as to render them insensitive to their orientation in relation to light incident upon them. Also, there may be a further filter (13) for attenuating light received by both sensors in a further selected spectral band.
