A light display mechanism for use with high profile motor vehicles, such as recreational vehicles, which has a light pattern, relatively long in length, parallel to the length of the vehicle, but which extends outwardly for only a relatively limited distance. In this way, the light pattern will adequately light any activity in close proximity to the vehicle and for most of the length of the vehicle. In this respect, the apparatus is highly effective as a motion detector for recreational vehicles in that it will not unduly spread light into one of the more adjacent recreational vehicles.
