A light emitting apparel includes a clothing piece, at least one electroluminescent lamp unit secured on the outer surface of the clothing piece, a battery operated power supply unit connected electrically to each electroluminescent lamp unit and operable so as to enable each lamp unit to emit light, and at least one reflector strip secured on the outer surface of the clothing piece and located adjacent to the lamp unit so as to reflect the light emitted by the lamp unit.
