LIGHT-EMITTING SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE Abstract of the Disclosure The specification discloses a light emitting semi- conductor device in which a semiconductor element capable of emitting light in two directions is located in a hous- ing. The housing has a window for the light in one of the directions and a light guide arranged to receive and transmit the light emitted in the other direction. To prevent light reflected from the face of the light guide from passing through the window and interfering with the light emitted in the other direction, the face of the light guide is inclined to the optical axis of the light emitted from the semiconductor device. In this way, interference patterns in the light output from the device can be prevented in a very simple and economical manner.
