An intensity equalizing element for placement between a number of individual fluorescent tubes (20) in a light panel (30) and the panel image display surface (16). The element includes a like number of curved surfaces (36) in axial alignment with the individual tubes to reduce variation in observed intensity due to tube spacing. Each curved surface is provided with a non- uniform opaque dot pattern thereon to reduce variation in the intensity of light at the panel display surface and enhance uniformity of light intensity throughout an overlying image display.

Cet égaliseur d'intensité trouve place entre un certain nombre de tubes fluorescents distincts (20) propres à un panneau lumineux (30) et la surface d'affichage (16) d'image de ce panneau. Il comprend un nombre identique de surfaces incurvées (36) disposées en alignement axial avec ces tubes afin de réduire la différence d'intensité observable due à l'espacement desdits tubes. Chaque surface incurvée présente un motif non uniforme de points opaques qui réduit la différence d'intensité lumineuse à la surface d'affichage du panneau et uniformise l'intensité lumineuse sur l'ensemble de l'affichage de l'image sus-jacente.
