LIGHT-SENSITIVE MATERIALS FOR RADIOGRAPHIC USE AND PROCESS FOR THE FORMATION OF AN X-RAY IMAGE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A light sensitive silver halide element fox radio- graphic use with intensifying screens has coated on at least one side of a transparent base at least a spectrally sensitized silver halide emulsion layer and, coated be- tween the base and a silver halide emulsion layer, a hydrophilic colloid layer containing a water-soluble acid dye capable of being decolorized during the photographic processing, said dye having its absorption in a region of the electromagnetic spectrum corresponding to the spectral sensitivity of the silver halide emulsion, associated with a basic polymeric mordant which comprises repeating units of formula: Image wherein R1 is hydrogen or a methyl group, A is a -COO- or -COO-alkylene group, R2 is hydrogen or a lower alkyl group and X is an anion. The invention allows the use of low coverage weights of silver halide light-sensitive elements and provides x-ray images with a favorable image quality and sensiti- vity ratio.
