Abstract of the Disclosure A light-sensitive polycondensation product is described, which comprises recurrent units corresponding to formulae A1 and A2 Image which are linked together by methylene groups and in which R1 and R2 stand for alkoxy groups having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R3 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, and R4 is a hydrogen atom or an alkoxy group ha- ving from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, the ratio A1 : A2 is from 0.125:1 to 8:1 and X is the anion of an acid containing fluorine atoms. The conden- sation product is used to produce a light-sensitive re- cording material for use in printing plates which can be developed with pure water. It has a high photospeed and, at the same time, a good storage stability.
