2085888 9201970 PCTABS00010 Light-sensitive silver halide color photographic element having at least one layer comprising a silver halide photographic emulsion, at least one 2,5-diacylamino phenol cyan coupler and at least one sulfo substituted thiacarbocyanine spectral sensitizing dye, wherein such spectral sensitizing dye is added to the silver halide photographic emulsion after the desalting step in the preparation process of said emulsion. Process for spectral sensitizing a silver halide photographic emulsion containing at least one 2,5-diacylamino phenol cyan coupler, the process comprising the steps of desalting the silver halide emulsion, spectrally sensitizing said emulsion by addition of at least one sulfo substituted thiacarbocyanine spectral sensitizing dye, chemically sensitizing said emulsion and then adding at least one 2,5-diacylamino phenol cyan coupler to said emulsion.
