TITLE OF THE INVENTION "Light source for an optical sensor and optical measuring device using same" TEXT OF THE ABSTRACT Light source for an optical sensor for sensing the position of a body as measured by the relative position or positions of light spots from the source on a linear sensing member, the source being in the form of a plane luminous geometrical figure comprising a curve (23, 23', 24, 24') symmetrical relative to an axis (22), characterised in that the curve is symmetrical relative to another axis (21) and has at least a first thickness (e1) on one side of a first (21) of the two axes and at least a second thickness (e2) on the other side of that axis. Application to a device for measuring the angular position of a body. (figure 2)
