ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Nickel amine, nickle aquo, and nickle bis- complexes of 2,2'-thiobis(p-alkylphenol), used to stabilize materials against thermal degradation by use of a hydroxyalkylamide of the formula: Image wherein R1 is alkyl or aryl; R2 is hydroxyalkyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms; and R3 is hydrogen or hydroxayalkyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms.
