A light frame kit and methods of distributing a lighted frame for connecting a rope light to an ornamental frame are provided and preferably includes an ornamental frame having frame supports of a preselected length and a rope light having a substantially similar preselected length. The ornamental frame and rope light are positioned within a package and shipped to a customer. The kit may include fasteners for connecting the rope light to the ornamental frame. Upon receiving the light frame kit, the customer must assemble the lighted frame by connecting the rope light to the ornamental frame. The light frame kit advantageously provides a rope light and a frame with frame supports of substantially equal lengths, reducing waste of rope light while assembling the lighted frame.
