As the Olde English way of spelling lightning in the title suggests, the problem of harnessing the power of lightning requires an alternate approach. Within the combined fields of chemistry and physics, this apparatus has met the requirement of adjusting to the highly variable nature of lightning in that it requires an open system rather than a closed battery. Endothermic reactions can be conducted using the renewable energy source of lightning strikes conducted through a medium form lightning rod to ground or vise vera. Hydrolysis would be the most obvious reaction to perform for producing the energy carrier, hydrogen, for fuel cells. The desired gases fill tanks or segmented pipes through the resultant pressure produced by the liquid to gaseous state change.
