LIGHTGUIDE FIBER CROSS CONNECTION MODULE Abstract A lightguide fiber fanout and cross connection equipment unit is made up of at least one modular cross connection box having an internal fiber pass-through channel region, an adjacent fiber slack loop retaining region, and a panel on one side of the box, adjacent to the retaining region, for mounting connectors to interconnect fibers within the box to respective fibers, e.g., jumpers or cabled fibers, outside the box. Additional arrangements are shown for mounting plural boxes in side-to-side adjacency to form a fiber distributing frame for many more fibers than can be accommodated by connectors of a single box or to form a junction facility of variable size for two or more fiber cables.
