An apparatus for supporting a primary lamp and a secondary lamp is disclosed. The apparatus comprises primary and secondary brackets, and primary and secondary sockets. The primary socket is affixed to the primary bracket, and receives the primary lamp, preferably a high intensity discharge lamp. The secondary bracket has a first end affixed to the primary bracket and a second end. The secondary socket is affixed to the secondary bracket, and receives the secondary lamp, preferably an incandescent lamp. The primary bracket defines a projected perimeter. The second end of the secondary bracket is normally biased to an operating position where the secondary lamp extends outside the projected perimeter of the primary bracket, but can be moved to a maintenance position where the secondary lamp is within the projected perimeter of the primary bracket. In operation, the secondary lamp is thus spaced apart from the primary lamp. During lamp replacement, however, the secondary bracket can be moved to a position where both lamps can be extracted from their enclosure.

La présente invention vise un appareil d'éclairage constitué d'une lampe principale et d'une lampe secondaire. L'appareil se compose de supports principal et secondaire, et de douilles principale et secondaire. La douille principale est fixée au support principal et loge la lampe principale, de préférence une lampe à décharge à haute intensité. Le support secondaire est muni de deux extrémités dont la première est fixée au support principal. La douille secondaire est fixée au support secondaire et loge la lampe secondaire, de préférence une lampe à incandescence. Le support principal délimite le périmètre de projection du faisceau lumineux. La deuxième extrémité du support secondaire est habituellement polarisée en position de fonctionnement tandis que la lampe secondaire se prolonge hors du périmètre de projection du support principal, mais peut être déplacée en vue d'une opération de maintenance au cours de laquelle la lampe secondaire se trouvera dans le périmètre de projection du support principal. En cours de fonctionnement, la lampe secondaire est ainsi positionnée à une certaine distance de la lampe principale. Toutefois, le support secondaire pourrait être placé de manière à permettre l'enlèvement et le remplacement des deux lampes.
