ABSTRACT A lighting system wherein a task-oriented light source is supplemented by the provision of a screen or baffle so located in relation to the positions of the source, the task and the observer as to block out or modify, in whole or in part, the light reaching the task at angles such as would produce veiling reflections. The screen or baffle may be metal, plastic, glass or other solid material and may be flat, curved or louvered; it also may be fixed or adjustable.
