ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A power transmission system comprises a plurality of steel towers and at least three cables for conducting three current phases suspended from the towers. A first cable is sup- ported on each of the towers by insulator-lightning arrestor means, and the remaining cables are supported in a vertical array from the cable by means of additional insulator-lightning arres- ter devices arranged between the remaining cables, and between the first cable and the first of the remaining cables. At least the additional insulator-lightning arrester devices in- clude a lightning arrester in the form of a non-linear resistor having as a main component zinc-oxide sintered at high temperature.
