An oven for cooking food in with visible, near-visible, and infrared radiant energy comprises first (36, 38) and second (56, 58) pluralities of high power lamps positioned above and below the food respectively. The first plurality of lamps (36, 38) is sequentially operated at a first average power by applying power in a staggered manner, and the second plurality of lamps (56, 58) is sequentially operated at a second average power level by applying power in a staggered manner so that not all of the second plurality of lamps (56, 58) are on at the same time. The stagger can be varied to change the time average power level of either lamp plurality.
L'invention concerne un four de cuisson d'aliments avec une énergie visible, quasi visible et une énergie rayonnante à infrarouges, le four comprenant un premier (36, 38) et un deuxième (56, 58) groupe de lampes haute puissance placées au-dessus et au-dessous des aliments, respectivement. Le premier groupe de lampes (36, 38) fonctionne par séquences à une première puissance moyenne, par application d'énergie de manière décalée, et le deuxième groupe de lampes (56, 58) fonctionne par séquences à un deuxième niveau de puissance moyen par application d'énergie de manière décalée de sorte que toutes les lampes du deuxième groupe de lampes (56, 58) ne s'allument pas en même temps. On peut varier le décalage pour modifier le niveau de puissance moyen dans le temps de chaque groupe de lampes.
