PATENT C-56215 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A lightweight cement composition for use in high pressure environments (greater than 3000 psi) comprises an aqueous slurry of a hydratable cement, ceramic microspheres and a foaming surfactant. It has been found that the presence of the foaming surfactant synergistically overcomes the normal tendency of the ceramic microspheres to crush at a pressure than about 3000 psi.
