A connector assembly for a coaxial cable having an outer conductor and an inner conductor includes a center conductor. A flaring ring and a clamping member are disposed adjacent to each other, and the outer conductor of the coaxial cable is engaged between the back end of the ring and the end of the clamping member. A body member holds the flaring ring and the clamping member together with the outer conductor of the cable located therebetween. A coupling nut, secured to the bodymember and disposed around the center conductor, is used to engage the connectorwith a mating connector. A conductive insert positioned within the body member provides electrical contact between the flaring ring and a mating connector. Theconnector assembly further includes a dielectric insulator, disposed between thecenter conductor and the conductive insert, for centering the center conductor with respect to the conductive insert and for electrically isolating the center conductor from the conductive insert. The clamping member, the body member, and the coupling nut are fabricated from polymeric materials, and the conductive insert is fabricated from an electrically conductive material.
Connecteur pour câble coaxial comprenant un conducteur extérieur et un conducteur intérieur ainsi qu'un conducteur central. Une bague à col évasé ainsi qu'un élément de serrage sont placés l'un à côté de l'autre et le conducteur extérieur du câble coaxial est pris entre le dos de la bague et l'extrémité de l'élément de serrage. Un corps maintient la bague à col évasé et l'élément de serrage ensemble, le conducteur extérieur étant situé entre les deux. Un écrou d'accouplement fixé au corps et disposé autour du conducteur central sert à réaliser un accouplement avec un connecteur adapté. Un élément rapporté conducteur positionné à l'intérieur du corps assure le contact électrique entre la bague à col évasé et le connecteur adapté. L'ensemble connecteur comprend en outre un moyen d'isolement diélectrique, disposé entre le conducteur central et l'élément rapporté conducteur, pour le centrage du conducteur central par rapport à l'élément rapporté conducteur et pour assurer l'isolement électrique du conducteur central et de l'élément rapporté conducteur. L'élément de serrage, le corps et l'écrou d'accouplement sont fabriqués à partir de matériaux polymériques et l'élément rapporté conducteur est fabriqué à partir d'un matériau conducteur d'électricité.
