A coupling assembly (10) is provided wherein the ends of fluid-carrying conduit members (11,12) are sized to be hydraulically connected in a fixed releasable locking relationship utilizing first and second coupling members (25,102 and 36,106) in combination with a lock ring (43,104) and an annular spring (44). The annular spring (44) and lock ring (43, 104) are secured to the first coupling member (25,102). The first coupling member (25,102) is sized to be secured over the ends of the fluid-carrying conduit members (11,12) that have o-rings (16, 22) for creating a seal. The coupling members (25,102 and 38,106) are rotatable with respect to each other and have threads (34,116 and 42,140) for cooperative engagement. A locking tab (68,142) on the second coupling member (36,106) is sized to engage a locking recess (58,132) on the first coupling member (25, 102), thereby creating a lock between the first and second coupling members (25,102 and 36,106). The assembly provides a quick connect and quick disconnect coupling that includes a peripheral stripe (70) to provide a visual indication of the connected or disconnected status of the coupling. In addition, the coupling offers size and weight advantages over previously existing coupler assemblies.
Une première réalisation concerne un ensemble de raccord (10) dans lequel le diamètre intérieur d'un jonc (44) peut, de par ses dimensions, se visser sur les filets d'un raccord et se bloquer dans un évidement formé par l'extrémité du filetage et le bord d'un épaulement. Cette structure a pour avantage de réduire le diamètre du jonc et de la bague de verrouillage (43) ainsi que l'encombrement et le poids de l'ensemble de raccord. De plus, ce raccord est du type à blocage et déblocage rapide et comporte à sa périphérie un repère qui indique s'il est verrouillé ou non. Dans la seconde réalisation, une rondelle éventail (108) peut augmenter momentanément de diamètre, venir se loger dans le filetage du raccord, puis reprendre son diamètre initial plus faible et rester prise dans un évidement formé par l'extrémité des filets et un rebord du raccord. Cette structure permet également de réduire le diamètre du jong et de la bague de verrouillage, ce qui procure une diminution et de taille et de poids de l'ensemble de raccord. Le raccord du type rapide comporte un repère indiquant s'il est verrouillé ou non.
