A lightweight video cassette cartridge (10) formed of recyclable materials is provided. The cassette cartridge includes a video tape housing (12) and a dust cover (14). The dust cover includes a base portion (26) fixedly attached to the video tape housing and a tear strip (28) releasably attached to the base portion for covering the video tape contained in the video tape housing when attached to the base portion and for re-exposing the video tape for play in a VCR when removed from the base portion.

Ce couvercle présente une partie inférieure (26) fixée à demeure à la partie logement et une bande à déchirer (28) fixée détachable à ladite partie inférieure de sorte qu'elle recouvre la bande vidéo contenue dans la partie logement lorsqu'elle est fixée à la partie inférieure, et qu'elle expose à nouveau ladite bande lorsqu'elle est détachée, permettant ainsi de passer la bande dans un magnétoscope à cassette.
